Aust Ch Rysup Foolin Around
Reece went as a show puppy to Paul Green of Greendoss Kennels. He had some very nice wins, although I only saw the ones that were published in the Canine Journal. They include Puppy in Show All Breeds and Opp sex Puppy in Show at Specialty level.
Then one day out of the blue I was contacted by Eddie Ryan. He tells me Paul does not want Reece anymore as he is way too small, and can he please place him in a pet home. I said no. I wanted to see what was so wrong with this boy. I arranged with Trevor Rogers to bring Reece up to Sydney with him as he was flying through.
We arrive at the airport to collect him. Here is this scared dog, tail tucked between his legs. But I could not get over his head - he had the most stunning head piece you could ask for! He was the spitting image of his dad!Remembering that she started from scratch, because Reece did not come back with anything except his registration papers (which incidentally had NEVER been transfered into Paul's name), he gained his Championship Title in short order, with many in group, BIG and in show awards along the way.
So I ran Reece with my guys, he had to learn how to walk through a door way, how to come into a house. I guessed he had never set foot inside a house since he left my place the first time. I took him to a couple of shows, and we practiced. I showed him once or twice to see how he would go. He won Res CC over older more experienced dogs.
Then Diane Armstrong approached me about getting a new dog to show. She had shown Bryce when he was in Queensland. While we had had our differences in the past, she had shown me she could be trusted, and so I agreed to send her Reece.
Then disaster struck. Reece kept getting an infection in his nether regions. It would not go away. We were advised the best thing for him was to have him desexed. So this was done. Diane then placed Reece in his forever home with friends of hers. Reece has since passed away. RIP Sweet Boy.
